Terms of use

Using the game

MAKI PASS offers solo practice and online card-game tables. Online play requires a browser connection. An account is optional for most play, but is needed for account features and recovery across devices. The service currently has no in-game purchases.

Players should use the game fairly, respect other players, and avoid spam, impersonation, abusive names, cheating tools, or attempts to disrupt the service. A player can leave a table; game rules may replace their seat with a bot or end the match by forfeit.

Availability and changes

Online matches can be interrupted by connection loss or service maintenance. Features and these terms may change as the game develops. Changes to these terms will appear on this page.

Privacy notice

Information used to run the game

Guests can choose a display name and avatar. A guest cookie helps reconnect to an online seat. The browser also stores presentation and language preferences, a guest profile, and a recent room reference. Other players at a table can see the display name, avatar, and public game information.

For signed-in players, Firebase Authentication handles email/password or Google sign-in. MAKI PASS stores a separate game profile, account and session references, and recent room references in Cloudflare. Game servers hold active table state, including private choices needed to run a match. Passwords are not stored in the MAKI PASS game database.

Analytics

PostHog receives pageview and selected game-use events to help understand interest and improve the game. Browser events use a separate identifier that the game does not link to your account. The game does not intentionally send player names, email addresses, invitation codes, hands, or choices as analytics event properties. PostHog and the hosting providers may also receive technical request information such as IP address and browser details. Browser analytics is sent through a PostHog-managed proxy at app.makipass.com. Session replay and automatic click/form capture are currently disabled.

Providers and choices

Cloudflare hosts the game, Firebase provides account authentication, and PostHog provides analytics. Browsers that signal Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are excluded from browser analytics by the current client. Players can use guest play without an account, clear local browser data, or use Delete account in the profile panel. Account deletion may require a fresh Firebase sign-in; the game explains if provider deletion could not complete.
